Lowell Road Veterinary Center is a state of the art, multi-doctor veterinary hospital that offers personal, progressive, and comprehensive animal care to dogs, cats, and pocket pets in the Hudson, New Hampshire. We understand all the different ways your pet communicates love and trust. Our hospital offers many services including annual wellness care, anesthesia and sedation, dentistry, internal medicine, laser therapy, in-house pharmacy, surgery, urgent/immediate care, rehabilitation services, and acupuncture.

We are ready with a positive, experienced support staff and excellent clientele and well equipped with ultrasound, underwater treadmill therapy, massage therapy, digital radiography, dental x-ray, and a complete in-house laboratory. We also have our sister hospital 25 minutes down the road in Bedford, New Hampshire, Bedford Veterinary Medical Center.

We are located in beautiful southern, New Hampshire! Our veterinary hospital is located on 288 Lowell Road in Hudson, just south of Manchester and next to Nashua. Tax-free New Hampshire is a fantastic place to live and offers beaches, mountains and city life, all within a short driving distance from our location! It is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts and is an excellent place to live and/or raise a family!

Our hours of operation are:

  • Monday – Friday: 7AM – 6PM
  • Saturday: 7AM – 4PM
  • Sunday: 9AM – 3PM

Job Description

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

Animal restraint, triage of incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management, and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.

Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

**This is a part-time position with possibility of becoming a full-time position**

Qualifications

We’re looking for:

  • Certified Veterinary Technicians/Registered Veterinary Technicians
  • Must have rehab experience. Rehab certification (CCRP,CCRT or equivalent) preferred, or minimum of 1 year working as a rehab technician.

Responsibilities

  • Will work with rehab certified DVM and will implement rehab programs prescribed by rehab DVM
  • Carry out therapeutic exercises. Must be able to train and assist patients in performing exercises, monitor for proper technique and for signs of fatigue
  • Perform basic massage techniques
  • Utilize modalities including class IV laser, therapeutic ultrasound, E-stim and underwater treadmill
  • Teach clients how to perform home exercises as part of home exercise program
  • Maintain medical records on rehab appointments
  • Physically demanding position. Must be able to get up and down from floor easily, bend over, lift 40-50 lbs
  • Utilize fear free approaches in patient handling
  • Assist in maintenance of rehab equipment and space
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with DVM about patient progress and any concerns.
  • Be able to effectively and compassionately communicate with clients.
  • As needed, assist rehab DVM with evaluations, sedated procedures, or orthopedic radiographs.
