Lavitt Animal Hospital is looking for a great, local Certified Veterinary Technican (CVT) who not only has a love of patients but also can communicate clearly and compassionately with pet owners about their pets’ care. Our ideal candidate is self-motivated, a team-player and seeking continued professional growth.
We are a privately-owned, primarily cat and dog general practice – providing preventative, medical, surgical and dental services for our patients in Morton Grove, Niles and the surrounding areas.
Our goal for Certified Veterinary Technicians at Lavitt Animal Hospital is for them to perform their skills to the fullest and continue to grow professionally, supporting – and being supported by – our other support staff and DVM. This includes:
- Consulting pet owners about – and providing – preventative care services, as allowed for in the Illinois Veterinary Practice Act (VPA)
- Performing and providing diagnostic tests and medical treatments as approved or ordered by the attending DVM
- Overseeing patient anesthesia
- Providing non-surgical dentistry services
- Assisting the DVM in surgery
- Providing client education
- Patient handling and care

Must be a licensed Certified Veterinary Technician in the State of Illinois.
We will consider candidates that are in the process of becoming licensed, but responsibilities and compensation would be based as a Veterinary Assistant until licensing is obtained.
